You've built a life that looks right. It just doesn't feel like yours.

Within was created for thoughtful people who find themselves asking questions that don't have easy answers.

For people who sense that something important is changing.

Text with the words 'Within' and a quote 'Within me, there lay an invincible summer'.

You've followed the path you were supposed to follow. You're functioning: at work or school, in your relationships, in your daily routines. And privately, something feels hollow. You're exhausted in a way you can't quite explain.

Many people arrive here saying: I don't know who I am anymore. Or: I've done everything right and I'm still not happy. Or simply: something is missing and I can't name it. That's exactly the right place to start. To begin again.

That's what Within is for.

It's a psychotherapy practice for adults navigating burnout, identity, relationships, career change, and major life transitions, especially those points when something that once fit no longer does. That might happen in early adulthood, midlife, or somewhere in between, when the questions of who you are, what matters, and how you want to live become harder to ignore.

We begin with a conversation.

About

Scott Welliver, MSEd, MBA, LAPC

Psychotherapist + Founder scott@withinmentalhealth.com

People often describe therapy with me as a thoughtful conversation rather than an analysis. Together, we may explore anxiety, depression, burnout, relationships, grief, identity, or the parts of life that no longer feel quite right.

My approach draws from existential therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, narrative therapy, and systems thinking. The theories matter, but the relationship matters more.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent more than twenty years working in technology, design, strategy, and leadership. Over time, I became increasingly interested in the human questions underneath the work itself—identity, meaning, relationships, change, and suffering.

Today I work with adults navigating burnout, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and life transitions. I am a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC) providing psychotherapy under clinical supervision of Cecily White, MSEd, LPC and Marlo Hall, MSEd, LPC.

A safe place to begin again

You don't need to be in crisis to come to therapy. Most of my clients look fine from the outside: they're holding it together, and still searching for something they can't quite name. If you've started to wonder whether the life you're living is actually the one you want, that wondering is enough. Let's chat. You're welcome here.

“In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer.”

— Albert Camus

The name Within comes from this quote by Albert Camus. I've always appreciated it because it acknowledges something important: life can be difficult, confusing, and uncertain, yet there is often still a capacity for meaning, growth, and renewal. Within is built around the belief that therapy can help people reconnect with those parts of themselves.
